Welcome to SeaTac

So I've arrived in Washington and am ready for the end of my three year pursuit of an MFA from the Ranier Writers Workshop at PLU. So that's cool.

I took only my iPad on this trip. No real computer. I'm posting this from the squarespace app for the iPhone and it's not super pretty but seems to be working. I'm also online using the mobile hotspot feature on my Nexus One, which is just great. Makes me very glad I'm not paying extra for the 3G iPad.

Really just testing this app out, but if it works well than I'll try and blog more during this residency. Maybe.

With Kindle and Aldiko ebook readers on Android, and 3g, you didn't really need the ipad at all. Typing your blog in it's web-browser isn't all that easy, but with a little patience it can be done. I read a good 50% of the Cthulhu Cult on my Desire whilst sat in my car waiting to collect my son from work, and the experience was pretty good. Maybe a move up to something the size of the Samsung GalaxyS might improve the experience, but I'm pretty sure that ipad is excess backage. ;-)

I love my iPad for reading comics and the occasional game. I did get the 3G version but I don't have a phone data plan so it was worth the cost to me. I got it from my fiance as a graduation gift recently. Congratulations on the MFA Rick!
